Symantec Launches Mobile Security Suite 5.0

Symantec Corp. announced it will offer Symantec Mobile Security Suite 5.0, a solution designed to provide customers with the same security and data protection capabilities on their Windows Mobile smartphones and PDAs as what has become standard for laptops and other computing devices.

Symantec Mobile Security Suite 5.0 will include antivirus, firewall, anti-SMS spam, and data encryption technologies that are easy to deploy, manage and maintain. This kind of layered security can not only mitigate the unique security risks of mobile devices, but can also enable companies to more easily and cost-effectively comply with internal security policies and external regulations.

HP Color Inkjets Set New Market Share Records

HP’s Color Inkjet Printers have set new records for market share, according to Q1 2007 statics from market researcher IDC Tracker. The results confirmed the continued strength of HP’s Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) in the Asia Pacific region, particularly in the markets for single-function printers (SFPs) and multifunction printers (MFPs).

HP’s SFPs achieved an all-time record market share of 50 percent in the Asia Pacific region, up 9 percent from the previous quarter and 14 percent higher year-on-year. The Philippines, in particular, achieved the highest market share in Southeast Asia and the third highest share in Asia Pacific.
