Sun Microsystems announced that it will change its Nasdaq stock ticker symbol from SUNW to JAVA, the ubiquitous technology and brand it created in 1995. The stock ticker change will go into effect for the trading community on Monday, August 27, 2007.

Effective August 2007, Marivic S. Gamo is the new Channels and Marketing Manager of Cisco Philippines, replacing Eric Sulit.
Prior to joining Cisco, Gamo is the Business Development, Marketing and Support of NEC Philippines. Former Intel Philippines Server Platform Architecture Manager Femme Quizon-Cruz took the position vacated by Gamo at NEC.
Gamo used to be with SAP Philippines and Microsoft Philippines.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced several recalls of children’s toys and jewelry products manufactured in China because of excessive levels of lead. More than 300,000 Chinese-made toys and nearly 22,000 pieces of children’s jewelry were recalled.
