Surveys released by research firms IDC and Gartner reveal PC shipments have increased globally about 15 per cent in the third quarter of 2007, with Hewlett-Packard (HP) remaining the leading vendor in terms of shipments.
HP led over Dell as the world’s largest PC supplier in the third quarter of 2007. HP ranks first at 33 per cent. Dell shipped 3.5 per cent more computers in third quarter but continued to lose ground to HP and other top rivals.
Apple remains at third position with a 7 per cent share of the market. Other vendors running the race in the US markets are Acer, Lenovo and Toshiba.
