The European Commission announced that Microsoft has agreed to fully comply with an antitrust decision by the European Union (EU) in 2004.
Microsoft will now take the necessary steps to comply with its obligations under the Commission’s 2004 decision regarding work group server operating systems, including making interoperability information available to “open source” software developers.
Oracle Corp.said that its $6.7 billion offer for BEA Systems Inc. will expire on Sunday if a decision is not made by BEA by then.
BEA rejected the Oracle offer and Oracle President Charles Phillips said that BEA has since rejected the proposed deal again and refused to meet with Oracle to discuss the offer.

Xbox 360 Arcade console is the first Xbox 360 console to include five family-friendly games, a wireless controller, a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) connection to enable high-definition output if desired and 256 MB of memory useful for storing games and entertainment content.
IBM and MediaTek said they are developing ultra fast chipsets that will wirelessly send a HDTV movie from a PC to a TV. The companies said one device will be able to transfer high-def content to another with the same speed as a viewer flipping a remote control.
The technology, which will also work with hand-held devices, is designed to allow consumers to use PC-TV set-tops without installing wires and reorganizing furniture.
