SAP Phils. Appoints New Managing Director and Country Manager

“I love it here in the Philippines but it’s time for me to take new challenges”, this is what outgoing SAP Phils. Managing Director Krishnendu Datta said during a press briefing where SAP announced their new managing director and country manager.

SAP Philippines appointed Patara Yongvanich as the new managing director and Jennifer Ligones as the new country manager of SAP Philippines. Krishnendu Datta was appointed as the new Senior Vice-President of SAP Support services for South East Asia and Managing Director for Indonesia concurrently.

Patara will be responsible for overseeing the company’s operations and developiong strategies to expand SAPs business. Ligones will be in charge of sales, pre-sales, channels and marketing functions of SAPs local operations.

SAP Philippines said it will continue its focus on the large enterprise space while remaining aggressive in growing its business with small and medium-sized industries.

Datta thanked his team, customers and members of the media for supporting him during his five years stay in the country as SAP Phils. managing director.

Apple launches iPhone 16GB and iPod Touch 32GB

Apple has now launched new variants of their iPod Touch and iPhone products.

The newest Apple iPhone in the market now comes with 16GB storage space.  The newly launched Apple iPod Touch comes with 32GB of storage space.

Apple announced that both these new products are now available through Apple’s online and retail stores.

Opera launches new Opera Mobile 9.5

Opera Software announced the commercial release of Opera Mobile 9.5 — the latest version of its award-winning Web browser for sophisticated feature phones and smartphones.

The Opera Mobile 9.5 desktop-like browsing experience has been enhanced with innovations such as zooming and panning that make it easier to navigate, load pages quicker and get users closer to the Web content and entertainment they want.

MySpace opens its doors to third party developers

MySpace has announced that their network is now open to third party developers.

MySpace showcased their Developer Platform Site which provides a sandbox for the developers to test out their applications.

The company added that they are planning to work along with the developers to create applications and check creations to ensure that they are safe for the web users.

HP Recycles Nearly 250 Million Pounds of Products in 2007

HP announced it recycled nearly 250 million pounds of hardware and print cartridges globally in its fiscal year 2007 – an increase of approximately 50 percent over the previous year and the equivalent of more than double the weight of the Titanic.

HP also reused 65 million pounds of hardware to be refurbished for resale or donation, increasing its annual reuse rate by 30 percent.
