Microsoft released four critical security updates to fix 12 vulnerabilities in various components of its widely used Office program, including Excel and Outlook.

The flaws affects Microsoft Office Excel 2000 Service Pack 3 and Excel 2002 Service Pack 3; Excel 2003 Service Pack 2; Excel Viewer 2003; Excel 2007; Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats; Office 2004 for Mac and Office 2008 for Mac. Microsoft addressed the problems by modifying how the program performs validations when opening Excel files.

YouTube announced that they are that it is expanding its API to provide more resources related to the service to third party developers.

Developers would get access to YouTube services like its video library, global audience, and the video hosting and streaming network.  Developers will also be able to fetch content including video feeds, comments, responses or playlists from YouTube.

Google confirmed that they have completed the acquisition of DoubleClick.

Hulu.com Launched

Hulu.com, the joint project of News Corp. and NBC Universal was finally launched.

The web based video service would provide access to ad-supported TV shows and movies. The two companies said that Hulu would feature more than 250 full-length episodes of popular shows including “The Simpsons” and “The Office”.

Apple denies Beatles coming to iTunes

Apple Inc announce that the reports that Beatles catalog is coming to Apple iTunes are not true.

Report indicated that a deal has been signed and the music from Beatles could soon be available as digital downloads.
