FIT-ED Celebrates 10th Anniversary

THE FOUNDATION for Information Technology Education and Development (FIT-ED), a private, non-profit organization marks its 10th anniversary this year.

In fulfilling its mission of helping people and communities harness information and communication technologies (ICTs) for learning, it has served 684,200 students, 6,220 teachers, 2,720 schools and teacher education institutions, and 2,275 education policymakers and administrators by providing technology and connectivity grants, professional development opportunities, curriculum and content, support, monitoring, and evaluation, and thru active community mobilization and private-public sector partnership-building.

“FIT-ED believes that learning is the key to human advancement and that ICTs can aid in educating individuals in economically and socially meaningful ways,” said FIT-ED Chairman and former Foreign Affairs Secretary Roberto Romulo. “FIT-ED upholds its commitment to develop the use of ICT for enhancing the teaching and learning process, expanding access to education, and promoting cultural understanding.”
