Ask.com has announced that they are acquiring Lexico Publishing Group. The group owns popular web destinations Dictionary.com, Thesaurus.com and Reference.com.
Ask.com acquired the sites since more than 30% of searches made on their search engine were connected to research.

Billionaire investor Carl Icahn is increasing his stake in the internet media giant Yahoo now that Microsoft has taken back their acquisition offer.
Reports indicated that Icahn bought as many as 50 million Yahoo shares in the recent weeks.
Other sources said the reason behind the purchase of more shares is Ichan will try to oust the Yahoo board.

Microsoft has launched their Worldwide Telescope service. This free web based service provides access to images from the universe to users around the world.
Microsoft said that the service combines images supplied by various sources including Hubble Space Telescope, the Chandra X-Ray Observatory Center, the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.
The application requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, or later. [...]

IBM announced they are going to make their Cognos business intelligence software accessible through Research in Motion’s Blackberry platform.
IBM said that the program that would sell for $300 per user would allow customers to view real-time analytics on their blackberry devices.
