The Hewlett-Packard Company Foundation has committed US$500,000 to the American Red Cross International Relief Fund in partnership with the Red Cross Society of China for aid in the aftermath of the recent Sichuan earthquake, while HP employees in China have collectively given at least US$285,000.

The Hewlett-Packard Company Foundation also has instituted a gift-matching program for HP employee contributions for up to US$350,000.

In addition, HP will donate approximately US$300,000 fair market value worth of technology equipment to help rebuild local schools in the affected communities. HP has established an earthquake emergency relief team in China that will work to identify and support affected customers and mobilize volunteer teams to help recovery efforts. These volunteers will help with rebuilding and provide technical expertise to schools and communities in need.
