Carl Icahn gets permission to buy Yahoo shares

FTC has granted permission to billionaire investor Carl Icahn to purchase more shares of the internet media giant Yahoo.
Icahn is said to be interested in acquiring another $1.5 billion worth of shares.
Icahn has already spent more than $1 billion to buy 59 million Yahoo shares.

Brazil and India filed an appeal against selection of the Microsoft’s Office Open XML format as an internationally recognized standard for electronic documents.
South Africa had expressed their disagreement as well.

Samsung Announces a 1TB “Green” Hard Drive

Samsung announced a one-terabyte hard drive that provides a 15% power savings compared to other low-powered 1TB hard drives and a 50% improvement over traditional 1TB hard drives.
The EcoGreen F1 hard drive has a 5400RPM rotational speed, 3.0Gbps SATA interface, native command queuing features and a 32MB buffer memory.
