The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that there has been a voluntary recall of two Hewlett-Packard fax machines. Consumers are advised to stop using these recalled products immediately.
About 367,000 unites of HP Fax 1010 and 1010xi Machines have been recalled in the United States. An additional 84,000 units sold outside of the U.S. have also been recalled.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the fax machines cause a hazard because of an internal electrical component failure, which can lead to a risk of burn or fire.
Hewlett-Packard has received three reports of overheating, and two in the U.S. have resulted in minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.
