Google Brings PC to TV with Google Media Server

Posted by: ADMIN on: June 30, 2008

Google announced the release of Google Media Server that will help users to connect their TV to the computer.

The new Google Media Server is an application for Windows, which is based on Google Desktop technology such as Desktop gadgets for the administration tool and Google Desktop Search to locate media files.

All users need is a PC running Google Desktop and an UPnP-enabled device (e.g. a PlayStation 3). With touch of a single button, users can then stream videos, audios or even photos stored in the PC. That’s not it, they can even view Picasa web albums and play videos from YouTube.
