HP is set to launch its first-ever consumer-focused smartphone. The new iPaq will run Windows Mobile and will feature both a touchscreen and a key, designed to challenge the dominance of iPhone and to compete with the recently released Android phone – G1.
HP currently holds a 3.3-percent share of the global smartphone market.

Windows XP gets another extension

Reports indicated that Microsoft has again given another extension to Windows XP. OEM suppliers are now allowed to offer Windows XP for another six months as a downgrade option with Windows Vista.
They would now be able to offer this service to new customers buying computers till July 31, 2009.

Xerox develops printer paper that erases itself

Xerox has developed a printer paper that if used with a particular form of printing would erase itself after a day.
This technology can be put to good use in offices where a lot of documents are printed for temporary purposes.
The paper can be reused after the ink on it vanishes.
