Asus launches Touchscreen Eee Desktop

Asus has launched an All-In-One Eee-branded 15.6in touchscreen desktop PC. It is powered by 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of memory and 160GB harddrive.
It also has a built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam, a set of stereo speakers and a wired keyboard and mouse.

Microsoft has announced that the next version of its Windows operating system will be named simply Windows 7.
Microsoft corporate VP of Windows management Mike Nash on the company’s Windows Vista blog confirms the report:

HP said defective Nvidia chips hits desktops

HP confirms that 38 models of HP Pavilion Slimline desktops were affected by Nvidia’s faulty GPUs. Some Dell lines were also experiencing problems caused by the Nvidia flaw.
Apple also recently reported that the MacBook Pro laptop processor with the Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT graphics may also be affected.

Microsoft launches Silverlight 2

Microsoft has announced the availability of Silverlight 2. The new version offers improvements with built-in controls, better networking support, more programming language support and added DRM protection.
In addition, cross-browser support now includes support for Mac, Windows and Linux in Firefox, Safari and Windows Internet Explorer.
