Sony Ericsson recently launched the W705 Walkman phone and Wireless Home Audio System MBS-900. Using Wi-Fi to connect to broadband hot spots, consumers can use their W705 to go online for the best songs or most popular YouTube video clips or stream tunes wirelessly to the stylish MBS-900 speaker via Bluetooth.

The W705 includes popular Walkman features such as the music recognition application TrackID, SensMe, for matching your mood to the music and Shake control to change tracks with the flick of your hand.

Samsung tops US Cell Phone Sales

Samsung Electronics Co. outperformed Motorola Inc. to become the top seller of handsets in the U.S. in the third quarter, according to market research agency Strategy Analytics.

Samsung registered 22.4% marketshare in the US during Q3 2008, enabling it to reach first position for the first time in its history.

Bill Gates sets up new company

Barely four months after departing from Microsoft, Bill Gates founded a company called “bgc3″. The nature of the company is still unclear.

The name apparently comes from “bg” for Bill Gates, “C” for catalyst and “3″ as it’s Gates’ “third place” after Microsoft and the charitable foundation he runs with his wife Melinda.

Adobe patches Reader, Acrobat and Flash

Adobe Systems Inc. issued patches for a vulnerability in Reader and Acrobat 8.1.2, and six critical patches for Flash Player 9.

With all of the patches, Adobe recommends that users upgrade to the latest software versions: Adobe Reader 9, Acrobat 9, and Flash 10.

Google updates Chrome to version 0.3

Google has completed a new beta release of its browser to Chrome 0.3.154.9. The update closes a URL spoofing hole that could be exploited for phishing attacks.

It also redesigned the behaviour when downloading executable files (.exe, .bat, etc.) also aims at providing more security.
