Honda Unveils Walking Assisting Machine

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. unveiled its second experimental walking assist device that helps support bodyweight to reduce the load on an individual’s legs while walking, going up and down stairs, and in a semi-crouching position.

The device is designed for people who are capable of walking and maneuvering on their own, but who can benefit from additional leg and body support while performing tasks. Honda will now begin testing the device in real-world conditions to evaluate its effectiveness.

Google CEO not interested in CTO position

Google’s Eric Schmidt announced that he is not interested in joining Barack Obama’s cabinet as a technology advisor.

Schmidt responded in an interview said: “I love working at Google and I’m very happy to stay at Google, so the answer is no.”

A new study presented at an American Heart Association conference suggests that people with pacemakers or other heart devices should be careful with headphones from portable music players.

The study finds that some headphones can interfere with heart devices if held very close to them. Doctors who tested them say they might even prevent a defibrillator from delivering a lifesaving shock.
