COMDDAP 2008 starts with a bang

People from all walks of life trooped to SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia to witness the opening of the country’s premier I.T. show COMDDAP 2008 Live I.T., Love I.T.

Leading technology companies are around to display their innovative products for visitors to see and try. As promised, the event provided visitors the best bargains, the most in-depth seminars, as well as exciting tech shows and activities. Raffle prizes and freebies were also given to lucky patrons.

Samsung Mobile uncovers the Samsung Pixon

Samsung Mobile unveiled a very slim full touch 8-megapixel cameral phone Samsung Pixon.

The Samsung Pixon is an 8-megapixel touch screen camera-phone that looks like, and delivers the photographic quality of a digital camera. Within its 13.8 mm slim body, Samsung Pixon features the latest camera functions (like one with its x16 digital zoom, auto-focus, fast-shutter, face detection and geo-tagging.) as well as its own unique Samsung Mobile Widget technology which enables users to personalize their phones with downloadable widgets.

Furthermore, Samsung Pixon measures 13.8 mm thin and features a 3.2’’ WQVGA full touch screen, music player (MP3, AAC, e-AAC+, WMA), FM radio, DNSe, Bluetooth, and an internal memory of 200MB (Micro SD card compatible).

As a camcorder, Pixon can capture videos in DVD resolution (720×480) or in QVGA with option for 120 frames per second.

LG Electronics launches LG KP500

LG Electronics (LG) announces the launch of LG KP500 with an affordable introduction price never offered before. This attractively-priced full touch screen handset is complete with the latest touch technology and features found in the existing high-end full touch screen handsets currently available on the market.

As a slim and stylish handset, the LG KP500 is a GSM phone which can operate in four frequency bands, giving it a far-reaching reception range.

Keeping in touch with friends has never been easier as the LG KP500 has the latest UI that allows the user to attach a friend’s photo for the speed dial feature and then page through the portraits and touch the friend to be called.

The LG KP500 has an embedded stylus pen concealed in the base that can be easily removed for the advanced handwriting recognition program that allows the user to write memos and text messages, and also edit photo images by touching the screen with the pen tip. The QWERTY onscreen keyboard slides into view when the LG-KP500 is held horizontally, and the auto rotating display always shifts images or documents for proper viewing no matter which way the handset is turned.

Also packed into the LG KP500 are motion sensor games that are played by turning, flipping, and shifting the handset for a more active and fun gaming experience.

Sun Microsystems Debuts JavaFX

Sun Microsystems, Inc. unveiled one of the most significant advancements to the Java platform with the release of JavaFX 1.0, a new platform that merges form and functionality for building rich internet applications (RIA) with immersive media and content for Web browsers and desktops.

Among the many innovations in JavaFX is the Java platform’s Drag-to-Install feature, allowing end users for the first time ever to simply drag-and-drop JavaFX applications from their browsers onto their desktops. The JavaFX 1.0 release includes video support and three key components, the JavaFX Development Environment, the JavaFX Production Suite and the JavaFX Desktop.
