Hewlett-Packard announced that it would start offering a new line of “Enviro” laptop batteries in early 2009. The products are aimed at users wishing to enhance their machine with longer-lasting and more sustainably designed batteries.

Open Handset Alliance has seen a major expansion with the addition of 14 new member companies.
These include: AKM Semiconductor Inc., ARM, ASUS, Atheros Communications, Borqs, Ericsson, Garmin, Huawei Technologies, Omron Software, Softbank Mobile Corporation, Sony Ericsson, Teleca AB, Toshiba and Vodafone.
Google G1 is the first product which is based on this alliance.

Microsoft recently released the latest updates as part of Patch Tuesday December 2008 fixing 28 flaws.
Around 6 of these issues are considered critical by the company. Microsoft said that the critical bugs affect products like Windows GDI, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Windows Search.
