Silverlight to Stream Obama’s Inauguration

The inauguration of U.S. President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden will be broadcast online on the Presidential Inaugural Committee’s Web site using Microsoft Silverlight.
Microsoft collaborated with iStreamPlanet Co. to develop and implement the rich media player experience powered by Microsoft Silverlight.

Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz gets pay package worth at least $19M

According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Yahoo Inc. newly appointed CEO Carol Bartz will receive $1 million in salary and $18 million in equity grants and an annual bonus of $4 million.
Bartz will also receive $10 million as compensation for leaving Autodesk to join Yahoo.

British Royal Navy systems hit by a virus

Downadup Worm Hits millions of PCs

According to F-Secure, there are millions of PCs infected with the Conficker worm, also known as Downadup. Once on a machine, it sets up an HTTP server and resets a machine’s System Restore point to stop administrators deleting it.
