Acer Incorporated Chairman JT Wang is forecasting global shipments of 50 million netbooks in 2010, up around 100% from the anticipated 25 to 30 million netbooks forecast to ship in 2009.

Acer believes they will take a 40% to 50% market share in netbooks 2010, which has seen steady growth from 13.5 million units in 2008, to about 27.5 million units in 2009 and an expected 50 million in 2010.
