Researcher Laurent Gaffie discovered a zero-day vulnerability in Windows 7 which basically crashes a Windows 7 system when exploited. The issue is in the SMB (Server Message Block) protocol that forms the backbone of Windows file sharing. When triggered, the flaw results in an infinite loop which renders the computer useless.

A US judge ruled in favor of Apple Inc., in a copyrights violation lawsuit against Macintosh clone maker Psystar Corp. The latter has been charged with both violating Apple’s copyrights as well as the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
The ruling said Psystar had infringed Apple’s “exclusive right” to come up with “derivative works of Mac OS X”, and original files had been replaced with unauthorized software
Dell confirmed its intentions to get into the smartphone market by announcing its first handset – the Dell Mini 3.
Dell plans to distribute its new Mini 3 smart phones through China Mobile, the largest telecommunications company in the world with more than 500 million customers, and Claro, which serves more than 42 million people in Brazil as part of the America Movil network.
No details were given about the phone except that it will run on the Google-backed Android operating system.
Intel Corporation agreed to settle a long standing dispute with its arch rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc, by paying AMD $1.25 billion as compensation.
