Intel cancels Larrabee consumer graphics chip

Intel pulled the plug on the consumer version of Larrabee and instead will be palming it off to developers and academics as a software development platform.

Intel admitted to being “behind where we had hoped to be at this point in the [Larrabee] project,” both in terms of silicon and software development.

Friendster up for sale?

Industry sources has indicated that social networking site Friendster is up for sale and the deal is almost done.

Reports said the sale price is around US$100 million. No words yet as who Friendster is negotiating with, but sources said it would be a company in Asia since Asia is Friendster’s strongest user base.

Friendster recently launched a brand new look and new edition of their services.
