Mandy Pascual is HP Philippines IPG new Country Manager

The search is over on who’s going to head the Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) of HP Philippines. Armando “Mandy” Pascual was recently appointed as the new General Manager of HP Philippines Imaging and Printing Group (IPG). Mandy replaces Jenny Sotto-Siquioco who is currently the Director of Marketing, HP Canada.

Barry Bunyi leaves Dell Philippines

Barry Bunyi is leaving his post as Dell Asia Pacific director and country manager for the Philippines. Barry served as Dell Asia Pacific director for eight years and served as country manager for the Philippines for six years.

Barry will be moving to Emerson to take on a regional post. Emerson is a company that offers a wide range of products and services in the areas of process management, climate technologies, network power, storage solutions, professional tools, appliance solutions, motor technologies, and industrial automation.

Lenovo best bet to buy Palm

HTC and Huawei has reportedly pulled out of any prospective deal to buy Palm, this leaves Lenovo as the leading candidate to acquire Palm Inc.

Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein denies the company is for sales and told Financial Times that Palm can survive as an independent company and that they have a plan to get the company to profitability.

Twitter Acquires CloudHopper

Twitter has acquired Cloudhopper, software that powers SMS and MMS.

This will help Twitter to grow more strongly in SMS campaigns as well. It is now getting more than 1 billion tweets a month so Cloudhopper can help in reducing it by increasing the SMS sent through Twitter.

YouTube relaunches video rental service

YouTube has launched an expanded version of its video rental service.

YouTube video rentals are now available for 2 day period for prices ranging between 99 cents and 3.99 dollars. Users would require a Google Checkout account to pay for the rental movies.

Apple iPad 3G shipping begins on April 30

Apple says a second wave of iPads will reach customers’ homes and U.S. stores on April 30. The Wi-Fi + 3G iPads will cost $629 for the 16GB model, $729 for the $32GB version and $829 for a 64GB option. International pricing will be announced May 10.

Apple will sell the iPad at the end of May in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. International pre-orders will begin on May 10.
