Dell recognized that the large enterprise, home and mid-size business market were separate segments that requires unique approaches. That is why Dell recently implemented a segmentation strategy in its Philippines subsidiary to address the needs of each market.

Varinderjit Singh, managing director, South Asia Developing Markets (SADMG) announced the recent appointment of Ricky Benipayo Lopez as country manager, Large Enterprise and Public Sector (LE/Pub) and Christopher “Chris” Papa as country manager, Small and Medium Business (SMB) for Dell’s office in the Philippines. Karen Lindy Gonzales is the country manager for consumer sales and marketing.

Man claims He Owns 84% of Facebook

A New Yorker who designed the original website for Mark Zuckerberg that eventually grew into Facebook has claimed that he owns 84 per cent of the company. Wellsville, NY resident Paul D. Ceglia claims to own a whopping 84% stake of Facebook dating back to 2003.

Ceglia says he entered into a contract with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in 2003 to build the site, and that in that contract he was promised $1,000 and a 50% stake in the company. He says the contract included a clause that entitled him to a further 1% of the company per day until the site launched, which happened 34 days later–hence the 84% claim.

Canon has announced a new initiative called Generation Green, that combines the company’s eco-friendly printer products and solutions under one corporate brand.

Generation Green is Canon’s environmental initiative that aims to reduce the environmental burdens in all stages of a product’s lifecycle. This program encompasses eligible Canon scanners, PIXMA inkjet printers, imageCLASS laser printers, copiers, calculators, imageFORMULA DR and CR scanners, imagePROGRAF Large Format Printers, imageRUNNERs, Color imageRUNNERs, imageRUNNER LBP, and imageRUNNER ADVANCE.

MYPHONE launches Fashion Phone

Solid Group Incorporated recently launch their latest MyPhone offering – S Q27 Duo. The S Q27 Duo is the My|Phone group’s effort to deliver a pretty phone to the Pinoys. With its China based Research and Development team, the group collaborated with Swarovski with the objective of combining technology and jewelry and producing a high fashion electronic accessory.

With three Swarovski cubic zirconia stones for the Menu and Call buttons, the S Q27 Duo certainly catches the eye with the bling. Its swivel action makes the phone sexier than the usual clams or sliders in the market. The S Q27 Duo has the vibe of the US version of the Sidekick, often seen in the hands of young Hollywood stars. The S Q27 Duo also boasts of the QWERTY keyboard allowing texting convenience and encouraging proper spelling of words.

Dell Philippines splits its business division into two – one is Large Enterprise division and the other one is Small and Medium Business division. The business division of Dell Philippines was formerly headed by Mr. Barry Bunyi who is now connected with Emerson.

As part of its restructuring, Dell Philippines appointed Mr. Ricky Lopez as Large Enterprise Business Manager and Mr. Chris “Sprite” Papa as SMB Business Manager.
