Lenovo to release game console called Ebox

Chinese electronics giant Lenovo is creating a video game console, dubbed the eBox. Lenovo has created a new subsidiary, the Beijing eedoo Technology company to build the console which will include a team of 40 engineers, with the task of developing the platform

The eBox will have controller-free gaming, which will likely be similar to Microsoft’s upcoming Kinect motion control system.

AMD To Drop ATI Brand

AMD, who acquired GPU manufacturer ATI for $5.4 billion (£3.48 billion) in 2006, has announced it will retire the ATI brand name from all of its graphics cards. The Radeon graphics chips (and all other ATI, urm, AMD GPUs) will be preceded by the AMD brand.

Existing products will retain their ATI branding, such as the ATI Radeon HD5870, though future products will instead be named under the new AMD branding. Changes will be rolled out across all products and segments from workstation to desktop and consumer.

Toshiba Android tablet named Folio 100

Toshiba has renamed its upcoming tablet from SmartPad to the Folio 100

The Toshiba’s Folio 100 Android powered tablet will run on Froyo ( Android 2.2) with some touch on the UI from Toshiba to make the tablet more user friendly . The tablet would carry NVIDIA’s dual core Tegra 250 processor making the slate graphically intense with a snappy performance on a 10 inch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 .

The Android powered tablet would carry a HDMI out for users who wish to play their videos on a HD device along with USB and mini USB ports embedded on it beautiful layout . The Android Tablet comes with a 16GB of internal memory and a SD card slot which can be expanded on further requirements . Internet would be the best place to hang out with the Opera Mobile browser on either Wi-Fi or 3G connectivity .

Along with this the Android tablet also features video chat via its front facing 1,3 MP camera . The tablet also comes with full flash support , probably the Flash 10.1 version.
