Schneider Electric recently annoucned the Schneider Electric University Challenge – “Green the World @ My Campus”, a university competition targeted to universities in the Philippines which has engineering faculties to participate fully in this prestigious competition.

Schneider Electric’s University Challenge is a competition designed to inspire engineering students at government and privately funded universities in the Philippines by challenging them to develop creative and innovative proposals that solve practical energy usage problems. This year’s theme, “Green the World @ My Campus,” tasks students with finding energy-efficient solutions that can be implemented on their own campus.

Dell and Juniper Networks, Inc. announced an agreement to offer networking solutions under Dell’s PowerConnect brand that enable customers to deploy a common network management platform and network operating system to help reduce operating expenses. In addition, the companies plan to work together on open, standards-based solutions for virtualized data centers and deliver technology solutions using Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE), also known as Data Center Bridging (DCB) and iSCSI to improve network economics.

As the notion of traditional, physical data center boundaries extend to virtual environments, customers must adapt to a variety of technological challenges including virtualization, security, bandwidth utilization and network management. By signing this original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement, Dell and Juniper intend to deliver a secure network infrastructure – from a customer’s traditional data center out to its branch offices, remote workers, customers and business partners – that can dynamically adjust to meet these challenges and provide orchestrated management of users, workloads and data — avoiding single-vendor lock-in.

Lenovo Philippines launched the ThinkCentre M70e desktop that gives customers a new, stylish design with powerful processing capabilities without breaking the bank. Its platform is built with advanced features for greater expandability, stability and manageability for large business customers.

The M70e tower is ergonomically designed, taking into account how people interact with their PCs today. As the workplace shrinks and open floor plans thrive, PC towers that used to live on top of desks are now typically stowed underneath, completely changing the ergonomics.
