Fuji Xerox Rolls Out Compact, Eco-friendly, Affordable SLED Printers Targeting Home Users and SMB Market

Fuji Xerox Printer Channel (FXPC) has announced the launch of its new DocuPrint series of A4 SLED (Self-Scanning Light-Emitting Diode) printers: DocuPrint CP105 b/CP205/CM205 b (colour) and DocuPrint P205 b/M205 b (monochrome). These new printers ranges from single function to multifunction printers and is one of the industry’s smallest*1 and lightest*1 models in its class. The new DocuPrint series is designed to meet the demands of home users, Small Office Home Offices (SOHO) as well as Small- and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs).

With the launch of this new series, Fuji Xerox has broadened its range of printers by catering to the unique requirements from the SOHO and SMB customers. Fuji Xerox believes that, with more affordable total cost of ownership, higher reliability and better performance, more SOHO and SMBs are opting for laser or laser-class printers instead of inkjet printers. To reinforce this belief, IDC had in its CY10 Q1-Q2 Printer Tracker Report, noted a sharp increase in the sale of single-function laser printers in Philippines (by 29%) during the same period last year. On the contrary, the sales of single-function inkjet printers saw a growth of only 15% during the same period.

Symantec Corp. announced the evolution of the Symantec Partner Program, designed to help partners build competitive advantage, improve recognition, and increase profitability. The enhanced Symantec Partner Program is based on a specialist model, rewarding the knowledge and expertise a partner has in a solution area or market. With its enhanced Partner Program, Symantec also introduced a Master Specialization category and rolled out a further three new Specializations, designed to empower partners to deliver greater value to customers.

The enhanced Symantec Partner Program recognises partners’ investment in Symantec, as well as Symantec’s commitment to its partners. Specializations and revenue will be a requirement for attaining Silver, Gold, and Platinum partner level status in the Symantec Partner Program. In Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), partners will have until April 2011 to transition to the new program requirements, which will include achieving the number of Specializations and revenue needed to maintain their partner level.
