ASUSTeK, the maker of the popular EEE PC is expected to globally launch its new Eee PC 901 notebook at Computex Show in Taiwan. On top of that, it appears that the company will also release the Eee PC 1000 series.

The invitation to the press indicated that the event will be the official global launch of the new Eee PC 901 and 1000 series.

Reports indicated that the Eee PC 901 and 1000 series will have improved screen size. If true, the recently launch Eee PC 900 which comes with 8.9″ inch screen display may slowly lose its popularity.


Yahoo’s Chief Executive Officer Jerry Yang says Microsoft is still interested in potential partnerships with Yahoo.

“They are discussing various other ideas and partnerships with us and we’re listening,” said Yang.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that the two companies were in ongoing discussions about developing a partnership, but declined to provide any specifics.

Facebook Goes Open Source

Facebook announced that it will open up its Facebook Platform, allowing similar sites to develop compatible applications.

The move is seen as a competitive response to Open Social, the offering backed by Google, MySpace and Yahoo!

Apple has released the Mac OS X 10.5.3 update. The update includes general operating system improvements that enhance the stability, compatibility and security of its Macintosh computers.

Apple fixed some 70 problems including more than 40 vulnerabilities in its update.
