Intel debuts six-core processor

Intel has launched a couple of new processors from their Xeon 7400 Series server processor range. The launches include the company’s first six core processor called “Dunnington”, which is designed for use on servers.

Intel said that this new range of processors deliver nearly 50 percent performance improvements compared to their existing products available in the market.

The new processors launched by Intel are:

– Intel X7460 (16MB L3 cache, 2.66GHz, 130W, 1066MHz FSB, 45nm)
– Intel E7450 (12MB L3 cache, 2.40GHz, 90W, 1066MHz FSB, 45nm)
– Intel E7440 (16MB L3 cache, 2.40GHz, 90W, 1066MHz FSB, 45nm)
– Intel E7430 (12MB L3 cache, 2.13GHz, 90W, 1066MHz FSB, 45nm)
– Intel E7420 (8MB L3 cache, 2.13GHz, 90W, 1066MHz FSB, 45nm)
– Intel L7455 (12MB L3 cache, 2.13GHz, 65W, 1066MHz FSB, 45nm)
– Intel L7445 (12MB L3 cache, 2.13GHz, 50W, 1066MHz FSB, 45nm)
