Canon launches 32 new imaging products

Canon Marketing Philippines stages a grand launch of their 32 new products as part of their Image Nation Celebration.

The new offerings spanned across the entire consumer brand portfolio. It included new offerings from PIXMA printers (three single function printers and five multifunction printers), three Canonscan flatbed scanners, four LaserShot Laser Printers, two XEED projectors, two high-end Digital IXUS camera models, seven new PowerShot digital cameras, one high-end high definition VIXIA Digital Camcorder, two new SELPHY Compact Photo Printers and three new EOS Digital SLR Cameras.

The much awaited part of the launch was the announcement of the Canon’s DSLR family tree: the entry-level 10.1MP EOS 1000D, the HD-ready mid-range 50D and the highly anticipated pro-level 5D Mark II.

Dell Takes Business Laptops to New Latitudes

Dell Philippines announced a completely new line of Latitude and Dell Precision laptops, ranging from the lightest ultra-portable in the company’s history to the most powerful mobile workstation.

Highlights:

– Previews Dell Latitude ON technology: Access to E-mail in Seconds

Dell’s re-engineered Latitude lineup answers a wide range of user profiles:
– Ultra-Portable: Dell Latitude E4200 is a 12.1-inch laptop that starts at 2.2 pounds, making it the lightest commercial notebook in the company’s history. The 13.3-inch Latitude E4300 has a starting weight of 3.3 pounds1. Designed for road warriors and executives who demand maximum performance and light weight, the systems will be available in the coming weeks.

– Mainstream: The Dell Latitude E6400 and E6500, are 14.1- and 15.4-inch laptops. The systems are ideal desktop replacements for high-performance users.

– Essential: The Latitude E5400, a 14.1-inch notebook, and the E5500, a 15.4-inch notebook include everyday features at a cost-effective price.

– Semi-Rugged: The Latitude E6400 ATG is a 14.1-inch semi-rugged laptop will be available next week. It is built and tested to meet Military 810F standards for dust, vibration and humidity.

– Desk-Based: From new port replicators to full docking solutions that fit any usage scenario with smaller footprints and streamlined cabling, users can “hot undock.”

Dell will offer colors for the first time on Latitude laptops. In addition to Mica-Brushed Metal, the Latitude E4200, E4300, E6400 and E6500 will be available in Regatta Blue, Regal Red and Quartz Pink (E4200 only) in the coming weeks. The E5400 and E5500 are available in Matte Black.

Asus to launch 3.75G version of Eee PC

Asus will soon introduce the 3G edition of their Eee PC line. Asus Eee PC 901 will feature High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA or 3.75G), with download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps, and upload speeds of 2.2Mbps.

With 3.75G, the Eee PC will be able to deliver on its promise of borderless one-day computing better than ever before. No longer bound to Internet hotspots, 3.75G-equipped Eee PC™ users will be able to enjoy low latency mobile broadband Internet access at high downlink and uplink speeds regardless of where they are—ensuring a seamless connected experience on the go.

Oracle has announced their plans to offer a “database machine” optimized for their products and technologies.

This would be the first time that Oracle would be selling a hardware based offering.  The machine is being manufactured for Oracle by Hewlett Packard.

Oracle said that the machine would help companies fetch information stored on databases more quickly.

MySpace launches MySpace Music service

The service has been named MySpace Music and it would play the songs for free for the users while they are surfing on the website.

This free music would be supported by online advertising. Users would be able to purchase the songs through MySpace’s partnership with Amazon.

The music through Amazon MP3 store is free from DRM and hence can be played on most portable music players and on any computer.
