Facebook hit by another phishing attack

Posted: May 17, 2009 in Tech

Facebook has confirmed that the popular social networking site has fallen victim to another phishing attack after users noticed a suspicious link that popped up on the site.

Users who followed the spam links were directed to log back in to the Facebook site, but actually logged into a dummy site controlled by the hackers, giving spammers their passwords.

Facebook is unsure how many users received the links directing them to the fraudulent sites.
