HP Philippines recently launched their complete consumer line-up of touch-enabled HP Photosmart printers enabled by its new, breakthrough TouchSmart user interface.

HP’s new dynamic intuitive touchscreen technology makes it easier than ever for consumers to conveniently display, edit and print photos as well as copy, scan and print documents. The groundbreaking HP Photosmart All-in-One printers with TouchSmart technology further HP’s print leadership and commitment to innovation in the consumer segment.

“Since HP introduced its first consumer touchscreen printer in 2006, our R&D teams have drawn from extensive customer insights and leading-edge touchscreen technology to develop a new TouchSmart user interface that will make everyday printing easy and enjoyable,” said Jenny Sotto-Siquioco, Country General Manager, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Philippines. “More importantly, we will be leading the industry in making Touchsmart technology available on our full line-up of new HP Photosmart printers.”

In addition to the touch-enabled Photosmart line-up, HP today also bolstered its expansive consumer printing and personal publishing portfolio with three HP Deskjet printers, including HP’s most affordable wireless offering – the HP Deskjet D5560 Printer Series.

APC by Schneider Electric has appointed Philippe Reveilhac as Country General Manager for the Philippines, replacing Pascal Bodin.

In this role, Reveilhac will be responsible for leading the local team to drive growth for the company in the Philippines, and to further strengthen APC’s position as a trusted advisor to businesses looking for innovative and energy efficient solutions for their data centers, server rooms and even wiring closets.

Chinatrust (Philippines) Commercial Bank Corporation, a subsidiary of Chinatrust Commercial Bank — one of the 200 largest commercial banks in the world, — acquired the license to SAP CRM (Customer Relationship Management) solution in an effort to improve its management of customer inquiries, minimize customer complaints and better leverage on the bank’s live agents.

“The implementation of SAP CRM allowed the Customer Care department to change the way our customers get the information they need as accurately and conveniently as possible. The online reporting capability enables us to keep track of service performance, agent productivity, complaint resolution and escalation, and call volume among other key service indicators,” Robles added.

Microsoft has announced that they would replace MS Works with a special edition Microsoft Office Starter 2010.

Microsoft Office Starter 2010 would include Office Word Starter 2010 and Office Excel Starter 2010. The applications would provide limited functionality and the users would be able to migrate to the full editions by purchasing the key.

Microsoft Office Starter 2010 would include the entire Office Suite but extra features can be enabled only by activating the appropriate license.

Adobe has released another warning related to their Acrobat range of products. Adobe said the new vulnerabilities are critical in nature and they are working on issuing fixes for them.

Adobe said that the following products are affected:

Adobe Reader 9.1.3, Acrobat 9.1.3, Adobe Reader 8.1.6, and Acrobat 8.1.6 for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX. Adobe Reader 7.1.3 and Acrobat 7.1.3 for Windows and Macintosh.
