Samsung is powering ahead with its plans for dominating the flat screen TV market with its LED HDTVs. The huge success of Samsung’s LED HDTVs has driven the company’s strong performance in the TV category, helping it capture 23 per cent of the global LCD TV market in Q2 2009. It also contributed to the company achieving over 10 per cent operating margin for its overall TV business division.

To sustain the momentum, Samsung has launched a campaign to drive further awareness and understanding of the benefits of its LED HDTVs. After its introduction last May, Samsung’s state-of-the-art LED HDTVs are prominently displayed in key retail stores to give consumers a chance to experience HD viewing. It has also been featured in leading lifestyle and technology magazines as one of the best buys for home viewing experience.

Sony Ericsson has launched its latest cameraphone Aino. SE Aino is a quad-band GSM mobile phone that comes packed with 8.1-megapixel camera with auto-focus, LED flash, face-detection, Geo-tagging and video recording capability (30 fps).

The internet-friendly handset is 3G compatible (HSDPA 7.2Mbps; HSUPA 2Mbps), and supports WiFi and Bluetooth A2DP.

While Media Go and Media Home allow Aino users to easily transfer content from a computer to the phone, the handset also features Remote Play with PlayStation 3, which allows the user to control and access media content on PlayStation3 from the handset.

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone announced that the Twitter has no present plans of introducing video tweets. This is to belie earlier reports that Twitter will be adding live video-tweeting service to boost its traffic and prominence as a social networking site.

In an email message sent to technology website Mashable, Biz Stone said “There will be no video hosting. 140 characters of text including spaces. You know the drill,”
