Dell delivers Mini 10v netbooks with Chrome OS

Posted: November 30, 2009 in Tech

Dell announced a custom version of Google’s Chrome OS, designed to be used on its Mini 10 netbooks, the OS is called ChromiumOS and it is a small optimized OS designed to make it easy to browse the web.

According to Doug Anson, a technology strategist with Dell said the experimental build “contains a functioning image of my USB key loaded with ChromiumOS. Anson further elaborated that Dell’s first operational Chrome build for the Mini 10v is imperfect in several key “caveats.”

Saying that the USB key image file has been released to http://linux.dell.com/files/cto is “definitely not perfect – untested, unstable, and minimally tested,” Anson added that “it does appear to function.”
