Globe and SEIPI backs World Electronics Forum Interim Meeting

Globe Business in partnership with the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines, Inc. (SEIPI) hosted the World Electronics Forum interim planning meeting in Manila, Philippines, July 12-14, 2010 in preparation for the 16th World Electronics Forum (WEF). This roundtable meeting provides a forum to discuss:

– Industry trends and issues that will provide the framework for the official meeting in January.
– Consumer electronics industry trends in the Philippines.
– Proposed schedule and agenda for the meeting in January.

The 16th annual World Electronics Forum (WEF) will take place January 8-10, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nev., USA. WEF will coincide with the 2011 International CES®, the world’s largest tradeshow for consumer technology and CEA’s flagship event.

Globe has been a long standing partner of SEIPI providing information and communication technology (ICT) solutions relevant to the needs of the country’s semiconductor industry. In hosting the WEF interim meeting, Globe Business advocates SEIPI’s aim to push the Philippines as an Asian hub for leading global semiconductor firms.

International Data Corporation (IDC) expects global semiconductor revenue to reach $274 billion, $295 billion, and $344 billion in 2010, 2011, and 2014, respectively, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.8% over the 2009-2014 forecast period.
