Bing grew to 11 million users last year, according to new statistics. Internet metrics companies found in their search engine usage statistics that Bing is seeing an increasing trend in usage. Microsoft’s Chief Executive Officer, Steve Ballmer confirmed the figures at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this month.

Microsoft changed its search technique, starting off as Live Search, and investing in market share. It stopped its Live Search around June 2009, and removed the brand from its properties by replacing it with Bing. As well as Bing, it also evolved its search engine, in being a decision engine.

According to figures from comScore, Bing was credited with 10.3% of the search engine market at the end of November 2009, while Google accounted for 65.6% and Yahoo for 17.5%. For the same month, Nielsen indicated that Bing was up to 10.7%, with Yahoo at 15.3% and Google 15.3%.
