Microsoft Philippines and LG Philippines recently launched the LG Optimus 7 powered by the Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system, designed to redefine the way Filipinos use their mobile phones.

“We are very excited to work with LG in giving Filipinos more options by introducing the LG Optimus 7 built on the Windows Phone 7 platform,” said John Bessey, Managing Director, Microsoft Philippines. “We are definitely taking Windows Phone 7 to the next level by providing users with the familiarity and confidence in using a platform that they trust,” said Bessey.

The LG Optimus 7 has 3.8″ TFT Capacitive Touch Screen with 480 x 800 WVGA resolution. It is quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and supports 3G with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76Mbps. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor with a 512MB RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. It also has XBOX gaming compatibility, 5 mega pixel camera, HD video, 3G and Wi-Fi networks.

The LG Optimus 7 also features customizable start screen via Live Tiles. The Live Tiles feature creates a more personal mobile experience by allowing its users to quickly see everything that matters to them most right on the screen.

The LG Optimus 7 and Windows Phone 7 collaboration gives its users control over their data, with the Windows Phone equipped with mobile versions of the Microsoft software as well as the Windows Live and Bing for effortless mobile web browsing.

Other noted features of LG Optimus 7 are Mobile Echo Virtual Phone, LG Augmented Reality and the DLNA (Device Living Network Alliance) function.

“Having worked closely with Microsoft we have designed Optimus 7 to include a truly innovative experience with the Windows Phone 7 environment,” says Richard Javier, Mobile Communications Head, LG Electronics Philippines. “The partnership is a breakthrough in mobile life for consumers given the operating system that offers people the ability to do more in fewer steps.”
