In-memory computing to drive business competitiveness unveiled at World Tour 2011

SAP AG unveils solutions that will drive business competitiveness. This was presented at the 2011 World Tour held at the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel in Mandaluyong. The business event gathered many of the country’s key large enterprises to come together and share best practices in harnessing the power of business intelligence to business help keep up with the changing business landscape.

Speaking before the country’s top business personalities, Tim Moylan, SAP President for Southeast Asia (SEA) shared with the delegates how businesses can maintain their competitive advantage in the face of a rapidly globalizing world made more challenging by uncertain economic conditions. “We must embrace change. The key is to evolve and transform with the times. Mobility, analytics and cloud are more than just buzzwords but starting a real revolution in information technology.”

The business event also saw the unveiling of SAP High Performance Analytics Appliance (HANA) software, a flexible, multi-purpose, data source agnostic in-memory appliance that combines SAP software components optimised on hardware provided and delivered by SAP leading hardware partners.

SAP HANA can enable businesses to analyze their operations based on large volumes of detailed information as it develops. Organizations can instantly explore and analyze all of their transactional and analytical data from virtually any data source in real time. Operational data is captured in memory as business happens, and flexible views expose analytic information at the speed of thought. External data can be added to analytic models to expand analysis across the entire organization.

Simon Dale, Head of Technology and Innovation, SAP Asia Pacific-Japan said: “Key challenge among companies today is how to best tap and analyze the soaring quantity of data, and harness that information to improve the business while maintaining cost efficiency at the same time.”

SAP HANA enables business organizations to be more competitive by providing new ways to look at their businesses based on instant, intuitive access to relevant information, along with greater ease of collaboration.
