Seagate recently unveils the first mobile wireless storage battery powered external hard drive hailed as the GoFlex Satellite. Cutting edge technology that redefines mobile storage and the capacity of Wi-Fi enabled mobile devices.

This latest offering of Seagate included in the GoFlex family has a 500GB memory, Wi-Fi access over 802.11 b/g/n and a rechargeable battery. It allows users to have their media library on-the-go. They can store videos, music, pictures and documents in it and just simply put it in their pockets and access it through their Apple devices, android devices and smartphones.

“With the growth of the tablet and iPad markets and the larger volumes of high-quality media now being consumed, there is a clear need for access to content that is not plagued with the challenges of streamed video over the Internet,” said BanSeng Teh, senior vice president and managing director of Asia Pacific and Japan, Seagate Technology. “The unfortunate fact is that these popular new mobile devices are hampered by their limited storage capacity while one of their primary functions is that of media consumption.”

He added, “With the GoFlex Satellite mobile wireless storage, we wished to create an elegant solution that provides real value to the multitude of tablet users out there by delivering a seamless connection to local storage. No longer will a consumer feel as though it is a compromise to purchase a lower capacity tablet or iPad. With GoFlex Satellite, people will be able to carry their entire media library with them without the need for wires or the web at a fraction of the cost of adding 3G or purchasing or a higher capacity tablet.”

Good news for iPad, iPhone, iPod and any other Android device users, there is an application that is called the GoFlex Media App. This app provides a seamless way to connect the mobile wireless storage to your mobile devices. It also has easy-to-use Media Sync software that makes grabbing media from a Windows PC or Mac OS X computer more conveniently. Moreover, the powerful hard drive consist USB 3.0 cable for faster file transfer.

GoFlex Satellite is now available at the Seagate Concept Store (4/F Cyberzone, Bldg B, SM Megamall) and through select retailers and resellers, for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of PHP 9,888.
