Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, launched three ingenious Android smartphones from its best-in-class series – consisting of Ascend P1, Ascend P1 LTE, and Ascend D1 LTE – that could be available through operators and retailers in the country this month.

Huawei boasts that its smartphones are products of its 20 years of wireless network experience and understanding. “We are able to optimize the network search algorithm for Ascend and base station auto-search technology, allowing us to have faster signal detection and longer battery life,” shared Johnson Ma, Country Manager of Huawei Device Philippines.

President Aquino witnessed today two contract signings spearheaded by the Philippines’ leading telecommunications company Globe Telecom. The first contract was between Globe and its technology partner, global ICT solutions provider Huawei, on the US$700-million massive mobile network modernization program to be rolled out nationwide within the next five years. Another contract was signed by Globe with Alcatel-Lucent, a network transformation leader, to manage the project.

Other witnesses to the signing were DOTC Secretary Mar Roxas, Globe Chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, and Singtel Group CEO Chua Sock Koong.
