Microsoft Philippines announced the appointment of Karrie Ilagan as the new Managing Director for Microsoft Philippines. Ilagan will be promoted from her current Enterprise Sales Director role and will report directly to Tracey Fellows, Area Vice President, Asia Pacific.

“It is with great excitement that I announce Karrie Ilagan as Country Managing Director for the Philippines. She brings with her an excellent mix of sales and marketing management experience, having held both the Enterprise Sales and Marketing leadership positions in Microsoft Philippines over the last 6 years, and 18 years in the IT industry. I am especially proud that she’s the first Filipina to head Microsoft Philippines in the 17 years since we opened our business in the Philippines and I’m confident that she will bring a strong local perspective to the business and the industry.” said Fellows.

Former Cisco Philippines country manager Luichi Robles is now the new country sales manager of security firm Symantec. Robles reports to Mr. Darric Hor who is the country director for both Philippines and Singapore. Prior to joining Symantec, Robles was with BT Consulting services, a provider of I.T. consulting and staffing services.

Reports indicated that there were other candidates being considered by Symantec – including some former managing directors. But Robles was chosen among all the candidates because of his skills, experience and dedication.

Robles assumed his new role mid October, although the news about his appointment circulated as early as first week of the same month.

The search of who will be the next managing director of HP Philippines is finally over – Mr. Ryan C. Guadalquiver, managing director of Oracle Philippines is reportedly replacing Mr. David Tan as the new managing director of HP Philippines. Tan will assume a new role in the AP region.

The name of Guadalquiver surfaced as the possible replacement of Tan as early as October 27, 2009 (Tuesday). Very few information is available about Guadalquiver except that he served as Oracle Philippine’s managing director for a little over a year.

HP will make a formal announcement of Guadalquiver’s appointment on November 3, 2009.
