Leading telecoms company PLDT, through its enterprise arm, PLDT SME Nation, has upgraded the current line of PLDT myDSL Biz packages, loaded with the latest tech gadgets and Cloud solutions, powered by faster connectivity speeds for SMEs.

Two technology companies recently partnered to deliver innovative business solutions for the country’s expanding small-and-medium enterprises (SME) market.

PLDT continues to offer top-grade communication and entertainment service to customers as it introduces its enhanced feature-rich tablet and landline device, the Telpad S7 Lite. The new device now runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), adding new and powerful ways of communicating and sharing.

“As part of our corporate commitment of providing our subscribers with quality service at par with international standards, we have enhanced the features of our Internet and landline device that is in line with global market trends,” said Patrick Tang, head of PLDT HOME Voice Solutions.

After being overshadowed by mobile services for more than a decade, fixed line services are making a comeback on the back of high-speed broadband internet powered by fiber optic technologies.

PLDT-Smart Technology Group Head Rolando Peña said fiber optic technology enables the fixed line network to transmit voice, data, and video over the internet at much higher bandwidths, faster speeds, and better quality.

The Philippines’ telecoms leader PLDT has partnered with US-based Ciena Corporation, the network specialist, to increase the capacity and service flexibility of its backbone Domestic Fiber Optic Network (DFON). PLDT will deploy Ciena’s coherent 100 Gigabits per second (100G) technology and Optical Transport Network (OTN) switching solutions.

“As the first 100G network in the Philippines, this deployment will add significant bandwidth scalability, reliability and intelligence to PLDT’s network infrastructure. The network upgrade will complete PLDT’s core network modernization program and support the delivery of next-generation services to customers such as fiber-to-the-home, fiber-to-the-building, LTE/4G, IPTV and triple-play services,” PLDT President and CEO Napoleon L. Nazareno said.
