Asia’s leading media, marketing and advertising publication, Media, in conjunction with world leading market insight company, TNS, has released ‘Asia Pacific’s Top 1000 Brands’ for 2008.

The survey, expanded on previous years to include responses from consumers in a total of 10 markets in the region, presents an overview of the local and global brands that consumers think most highly of across sectors and geographies.

Microsoft launches AutoCollage2008

Microsoft Research launches AutoCollage 2008, a desktop application that allows users to easily compile a set of individual photographs into one seamless collage.

In just a few clicks, people can transform an unwieldy group of photos — for example, of an event such as a wedding or holiday — into a single collage image that can be printed; used in e-postcards, web pages or desktop backgrounds; or e-mailed to family and friends.

Intel Corporation announced its new four halogen-free Intel Xeon processors – X5492, X5470 and L5430 processors.

According to Intel, much of the energy efficiency of these new processors comes from the company’s advanced 45nm manufacturing capability and its reinvented transistors that use a Hafnium-based high-k metal gate formula. In addition all previously launched versions of the Intel Xeon 5200 and 5400 series will now be halogen-free.

Mozilla confirmed that running Norton Internet Security products with Firefox 3.0.1 could cause some features from programs to disappear.

Mozilla said old and outdated Norton software was responsible for preventing the browser from properly terminating.

Apple admits British man invented iPod

Apple acknowledges that Kane Kramer, a British inventor is the real inventor of the iPod.

What Kramer actually invented back in 1979 was a way to store 3.5 minutes of music on to a chip, coined the IXI. Although the capacity of the chip was minuscule, he believed that storage capabilities would improve in time.

Despite the admission, Apple has yet to give Kramer compensation for his invention.
